REBEKAH WAINWRIGHT
Rebekah began her serious ballet training with Cheri Sutherland from the School of American Ballet in 1994. Her studies lead her to train at Steps in New York for two summers… before returning to the Las Vegas area where she studied Elize Valle, Shawn Hughes, and Tara Foy while attending Nevada Ballet Theater’s summer intensives. She performed with Jenny Romas in Legends in Concert 2002 and soon as after was cast with Carnival Cruise lines. After spending 5 years in teaching and coaching circuit, she returned to the stage in 2007 as a principal dancer for New Dance Co. in Stockton CA. She had the opportunity to work with Carla Maxwell at UC Davis while concurrently was given an invitation to rehearse with Central West Ballet during her 2nd pregnancy. She returned to St. George Utah in 2007 and continued to perform as a Principal dancer for St. George Dance Co. She was in Tuacahn’s production of “Cats” 2010, and “Thoroughly Modern Millie” 2013, and she opened as a soloist for Ririe Woodbury in 2010, and performed at the Wax Theater in 2015 in New York. She is a founding member of St. George Dance Co and has served as their event coordinator, choreographer, and most recently as vice chair in 2018. She received her Bachelor’s of Art in Music (vocal performance). Rebekah is currently the Director of Vista Dance Company and loves being able to share her passion of the arts with her students.
