While taking both of these courses at DSU, I choreographed regularly for St. George Dance Company. I set a piece to Beethoven's Appassionata based on his loss of hearing. I dissecting the song in my Music Form and Anaylis and used the different sections of the music to emphasize the story telling and the motifs established by the dancers.
Later that year I was asked to choreograph for the symphony. I choreographed The Earl King based on the story by Schubert of the boy who lost his life of the fever as his father raised on horse back to get him home. I mirrored the musical principals of the rhythm for the horse' feet as well as the three voices of each character in the different context. As the music changed from minor to major, I changed the the overall weight of the dancers approach in movement to give a light quality to depict the ghostly nature of the Earl King. It made it into the final round at the Red Rock Festival in 2017.
I am currently the dance director of Vista Charter School. We have placed 1st for the last two year's for our Ensemble pieces that I have choreographed and numerous other awards have been given to my student's performances of my work.
As a resident choreographer for St. George Dance Company, I have been commissioned to choreograph for three symphony performances. Performed in Company repertoire with "Paul Taylor II" 2017. In addition, I have choreographed over a dozen other ensemble pieces for different venues and performances that have been performed in St. George, San Diego and Salt lake.
